Library Card

Due to our migration to another circulation system, we will need your library card to checkout any materials to you, from  Monday, October 24 through Thursday October 27.

Holds in October

Riverdale Public Library is a member of the Morris Automated Information Network (MAIN). MAIN is changing to a different circulation system, with added features for our patrons.


To ensure the migration goes smoothly for our patrons, placing a hold on books and materials will be suspended through the month of October.

The ability to place a hold on items will be restored when we are live in our new circulation system, a projected date of Monday, October 31.

Kindle eBooks Available for Borrowing

eBooks for Kindle devices are now available with your library card. In our catalog, click on "Download audiobooks/eBooks" and select your title for the Kindle. You'll need your library card, and will be asked to sign into your Amazon account to complete the download.

Don't forget our classes in using the library catalog for eBook downloading. Next class is Monday, October 3, at 6:30. Register now online at our website, www.riverdalelibrary.org, or call us at (973) 835-5044.

Children's Programs Start on Monday

Our fall programs will begin the week of Monday, September 12. From infants through teens, we have programs to suit your child. Check out the Riverdale Public Library website for all our programs. You can sign up online also!

September is Library Card Sign - Up Month

Your library card entitles you not only to the Riverdale Public Library collection, but to all the Morris County Information Network members (36 libraries). Open borrowing priviledges expand your resources even more, with many libraries throughout the state participating like the Bergen County (BCCLS)and Passaic County (PALS) libraries.
