September is Library Card Sign - Up Month

Your library card entitles you not only to the Riverdale Public Library collection, but to all the Morris County Information Network members (36 libraries). Open borrowing priviledges expand your resources even more, with many libraries throughout the state participating like the Bergen County (BCCLS)and Passaic County (PALS) libraries.

Author Visits

Monday, September 19, 7:00 p.m.
 Mary Ryzuk, the talented singer from The Traveling Stage Company, is also a published author. She has written Thou Shalt Not Kill (true story of John List) and The Gainsville Ripper.
Ryzuk will be discussing her recent novel, The Fires Within: The Summer of '88, a murder mystery set against the background of the Yellowstone fires of 1988.


Thursday, September 29, 6:30 p.m.

Author Kevin Woyce returns with a slideshow presentation of his new book New Jersey State Parks:History & Facts.

Join us -  hear the author speak, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments.

Children and Teen Books Borrowing Changes

New teen or children's books are now available for a 14 day borrowing period, rather than 28 days. You'll be more likely to find the new and popular books available on the shelf with these shortened borrowing periods.

What to read?

Finished a great series, or read everything by an author, and don't know what to select next? Our library catalog includes links to bestseller lists, award lists, and recommended reading. When you are in the catalog, either select the links under Library Info, or links in the Recommended Reading Bestsellers.
And of course, ask the Riverdale Public Library staff for some great reading suggestions.

Check the Riverdale Public Library catalog for ebooks to download onto your reader, a Smartphone, or your computer. Click on the MAIN catalog link at www.riverdalelibrary.org, and click on download audiobooks/ebooks link on the navigation bar.You'll be in the NJ Digital Library website and can browse the selection.

New Hours

Starting Tuesday, July 5th, the Riverdale Public Library will be closing on Tuesdays at 5 p.m., and will be open later on Wednesdays, until 8 p.m. This is in response to patron requests made on our survey, earlier this year. The new hours of the library will be:

Monday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Tuesday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
